And welcome to the first Aces Weekly of 2021!  Let's hope we all have a much better year than the one just gone whatever our circumstances!  And to note some better things to say about 2020 as our future stretches out, this volume continues the fabulous saga our regular Aces, Jok and Santullo, have made for us to present to you over those days of  2020 : the story of Merlin and Hector.  I invited its writer to say something here about it to begin our new year of the new episodes, and to say why he was so attracted by the legend it was inspired by :' The first time I saw John Boorman's film, "Excalibur" as a child, I was fascinated by the Arthurian legend. I explored it so many times as a reader - with Malory, Steinbeck - that the idea of playing with it as an author was an experience I could not  pass up.  But that all arose at the suggestion of Jok, one of the greatest active Latin American comic book artists, who also loved those same characters from legend, and was especially fascinated by the character of Merlin, whose origin has so many gaps and dark areas in the history of the character that it makes him ideal to play with and rediscover. Thus, together with Jok, I have reinterpreted everything to be found to find on Merlin, and have travelled through his legend with a freedom to be inspired, believing that in our contribution, and with all the love we have for it, that we are humbly adding our grain of sand to the mythology.  It is exciting to do, and we thank all the readers of Merlin and Hector - and those of Aces Weekly - for the home you've given it, and for joining us in its story '.  Merlin and Hector, and much, much more, is currently in Aces Weekly on every Monday of every week from today, and into 2021.  Stick with us, please.  And enjoy us. And stay safe!  : )
