We're very happy to invite all of our wonderful readers - the new and the known - to the first part of a brand new volume of our Aces Weekly today. But it's a happiness tinged with sadness. As some of you may know, we lost one of our best Aces just over a week ago. The great writer, James Hudnall, was one of the earliest of our contributors, and one of the speediest to join us. I like to think it was because of his well-known passion for championing the different, rather than the usual : he was, for instance, an active enthusiast for the best of manga before anyone else woke up to it in the US in the major way that everyone did later on. His only rule, seemingly : if it makes a good story in comics, let's tell it. For late subscribers who missed the great story Jim did for us with Val Mayerik - Blue Cat - we're happy to run the first part of it here in Extras in tribute to him. If you're a recent subscriber, and reading it makes you realise what you missed in arriving late on board, go treat yourself and buy the rest of the volumes that Blue Cat runs in. Alternatively, if you were a subscriber when it first ran, I'm sure it will remind you of how great Jim's work was and be a good memory for you of what a great job he did in entertaining us all before he left us... : )
Remember, we ALWAYS want to hear from you! Ask questions, talk to us all, post to our blog, and see us over at facebook.com/acesweekly. Or send mail to email@example.com to see it right here, whatever you want to say!
