Welcome to ACES WEEKLY Volume 23, Week Four!

With the Olympics now running and taking much space in the media, it's reminded me that sport is - and has been for a long time - a subject that's rarely given house room in comics now! Way back in time in the UK, comic stories like Alf Tupper - Tough Of The Track, and The Truth About Wilson, were solid properties in some British weeklies, but, apart from staples like football strips, they could never hold their own in competition with war stories, science-fiction, and other escapist adventures. In my view, they were part of an attempt by the one publisher who was mainly responsible for them to keep readers ' down-to-earth ', but that's just my opinion!  But they were read by enough to keep them running, and I'd be interested to see how readers would to react to one now. Anyone out there want one?  I could always ask one of our Aces to take a shot at it... with a starting pistol, of course... : )
