Welcome to ACES WEEKLY Volume 23, Week Two!
At a convention this last weekend I was on a panel talking about how a lot of British creators changed the face of US comics, even though it happened to be the case that those creators themselves had been changed by US comics in their developing years - primed, in a way, to be of such stuff as US comics are made of! But one of the most important developments that arose from the input of one particular Briton was the removal of the restricting US Comics Code, giving more freedom to creators to explore themes in comics that were previously avoided. At Aces Weekly we pride ourselves in having as wide an appeal as we can produce with our mad mix, so we don't take the fullest advantage of the creative open road that web publishing gives us - but we could if we wanted to. And that's the important point. We could if we wanted to. Freedom is oxygen to creativity, and it should never be denied to creators who want it.
Remember, we always want to hear from you. Ask questions, talk to us all, post to our blog, and see us over at facebook.com/acesweekly. Or send mail to [email protected] to see it right here, whatever you want to say!
